About Us
The ABC Training Trust is a registered charity (no: 1123559) set up by the Association of British Climbing Walls (ABC) in 2008 to administer the NICAS scheme. The Scheme is supported by the British Mountaineering Council, the Mountaineering Council of Scotland and the Mountaineering Council of Ireland as well as Mountain Leader Training UK, Mountain Leader Training England and Mountain Leader Training Wales.
Board of Trustees
The ABCTT has a board of trustees who are all members of the ABC. They currently comprise:
- Guy Jarvis (Chair) – Undercover Rock, Bristol
- Jon Wilson – Calshot Climbing Centre, Southampton
- Andy Reid (Treasurer) – Mile End Climbing Wall, London
- John Dunne – Manchester Climbing Centre
- Neil Bentley – The Foundry, Sheffield
- Neil Wightwick – Glasgow Climbing Centre, Glasgow
- Iain McKenzie (NICAS Officer) – The Tower, Leicester
- Matt Keates (Member Trustee) – Sea Cadets, Weymouth
- Clare De Meyer (Member Trustee) – Harrison’s Rocks
The ABCTT will be seeking more trustees from Awarding Centres outside the ABC as the scheme grows. Applications are welcome.
