The Association of British Climbing Walls (ABC)
The representative body of climbing centre managers and owners. Principally concerned with the development of safe practice and quality management processes for operating climbing centres.
The British Mountaineering Council (BMC)
A representative body that exists to protect the freedoms and promote the interests of climbers, hill walkers and mountaineers, including ski-mountaineers.
The Mountaineering Council of Scotland (MCofS)
The representative body for hill walkers, climbers and ski-tourers who enjoy the Scottish mountains.
Mountain Leader Training UK (MLTUK)
The co-ordinating body for all mountain training schemes in the UK, overseeing the training and assessment of around six thousand leaders, instructors and guides.
Mountain Leader Training England (MLTE)
Formerly the Mountain Leader Training Board. Set up in 1964 to develop training and assessment courses in mountaineering.
