Welsh NICAS - message from Guy Jarvis, chair of ABCTT :  26/11/10

We are pleased to inform you that the ABCTT has now produced an English/Welsh bilingual version of the part 1 student logbook covering levels 1 and 2. These 32 page booklets are of the same design as the original English version but have both English and Welsh translations of each page. The bilingual version costs the same as the English only version. We have also produced Welsh versions of the level 1 and 2 certificates (not bilingual). This has been a long standing project of the ABCTT and we would particularly like to thank Berwyn Evans of the Beacon climbing centre for all his work on it.

The logbooks can be ordered in the usual way from Primary Centres for Awarding Centres and from Anne for Primary Centres.

NEW! Welsh Part 1 booklet now available :  09/11/10

We are delighted to announce that the new bilingual Welsh-English Part 1 booklets (Level 1 & 2) are now available.  Contact anne@nicas.co.uk to order as usual.

We are delighted to announce that over the next few months we are offering four national NICAS seminars.  We are bringing together representatives of NICAS, MLT, BMC, ABC and AMI to discuss the future of indoor climbing and coaching, as well as offering coaching advice and four workshop options:
* Coaching and how to run a squad;
* Advice for Technical Advisers working with indoor walls;
* Issues involved with Youth Lead Climbing;
* NICAS and working with GCSE, QCF and DofE.
The seminars are taking place in Swindon, Edinburgh, Manchester and Leicester.  Please contact anne@nicas.co.uk for more details.

Two new member Trustees :  18/07/10

Change to postage costs :  02/06/10

After discussion, it has been decided that postage costs for logbook deliveries to Primary Centres will change with effect from 1st June 2010.  Any orders received on or after this date will be charged as follows:
     UK Sterling 13 for a box of Part 1 booklets (Levels 1-2)
     UK Sterling 17 for a box of Part 2 binders (Levels 3-5)
     UK Sterling 23.50 for any order of 2 or more boxes
This means the ABC Training Trust will absorb some of the costs charged by Out Of Hand (our printers and suppliers) for smaller orders.  The rates include storage, order picking, packaging and insurance as well as courier service.  Awarding Centres should continue to order their logbooks via their Primary Centres unless otherwise agreed by the PC, AC and ABCTT.

The invoices for annual renewals are being sent out over a few weeks from mid-May to mid-June 2010, so don't worry if your centre's invoice hasn't yet arrived.  We won't be de-registering any centres on 31st May, but if you haven't received any invoice or communication from us by the end of June please email anne@nicas.co.uk.
Anne is on holiday from 31st May to 14th June, so any emails or phone calls received in that time will not be dealt with until her return.  For URGENT queries please contact iain@nicas.co.uk.
