This is an introduction to our Wild Climbers scheme and is available to personnel at accredited centres who have already contacted us about running this new scheme. If your centre is considering whether to run Wild Climbers, this induction can help you make an informed choice and answer questions you may have. This induction is mandatory for Course Directors and Assistant Course Directors at accredited centres that are already or will be delivering Wild Climbers.
About the induction
This online training session will be held on Zoom. Your trainer will be Graham Little.
This 2 hour session will cover:
- Staff and facility pre-requisites
- Available resources
- Props and aids
- Importance of session planning
- Creating themes
- Being enthusiastic
- Maintaining safety
- Including and/or managing parents and carers
- Inclusivity and adjusting content
- Managing expectations (participant, coach, parent, facility)
Course Fees
This induction costs £19.99 + VAT (£23.99) per person.
What you will need
- A computer, laptop or iPad if possible – this will allow you to get the most from the Zoom meeting, and to use the candidate management system if requested.
Before the course
- If you have any specific questions or additional learning requirements, please let us know when you book your ticket.
- Please download any course materials sent by email and look through these before the training session if possible.

- Online bookings will close at 12.00pm on the day of the course.
- Course details, including the Zoom meeting link, will be sent out 1-2 working days before the induction.
- If you are booking late, please phone 0300 772 9872 to make us aware.
- If you would prefer to pay by invoice, please choose the “Online induction: Request invoice” ticket, and we will email an invoice to be paid within 30 days.
- Access to NICAS resources is restricted to personnel running the NICAS schemes at our accredited centres. Access is not automatically granted to candidates after attending an induction. Freelance coaches should seek access through the accredited centre they have an agreement with, or provide evidence of an agreement when requesting access.
